Barter is a wonderful tool for artists of all kinds. An artist issued Private Trade Dollars for his works for a $35,000 color ad in a national magazine. The advertising agency that represented the magazine took vacation scrip from a trader who in turn took paintings from the artist. This trader works with different artists - as their representative - and takes their paintings to trade auctions, etc. The artist receives forty percent while the trader keeps sixty percent. The trader, with a large inventory of products and services, could offer the artist a large selection. In this case, whenever the artist needs something, from a new roof to a patio set, he calls his trader who answers the request promptly. It's a terrific relationship for both the trader and the artist. The artist is using his inventory instead of his cash and the trader uses the artist to add to his own inventory which, the last we heard, had grown to more than a million dollars. When you walk around with a million dollars in products and services in you briefcase, you are able to acquire almost anything you want. Once we fully grasp the fact that the Private Trade Dollar System trading is entirely new business for both parties using vanishing inventories, and not a substitute for a cash sale by anyone, we will know its power.
